Red Passion Flower

If you follow my posts on this blog, you know I was hoping my Passion Flower blooms would be red, and wowie, did I get my wish or what!

Have you ever seen such a vibrant red?

What a surprise this morning, when I looked out the kitchen window I saw an amazing bit of red out on the passion flower vine.  Sun was not even up yet, but this red was glowing!

I got this lovely plant at our LaSalle Garden center, late in the season – perhaps as late as mid July -I am hoping to get it to winter over by mulching it heavilly.  From what I have been able to glean from the world wide web it should be hardy in this growing zone.  Cross your fingers!
