On June 30th 2014, Sandy Favazza, long time owner of Favazza Florist at 8445 Natural Bridge Road, closed her well known flower shop and joined Walter Knoll Florist as a designer and floral consultant.
The Favazza family started their floral business on Feb. 15th 1959 by opening Favazza Florist, one day after Valentine’s Day, the biggest sales day in the flower business. “That was only because we couldn’t get our flower order in soon enough for Valentine’s Day.” tells Sandy Favazza. But after that rocky start their family business grew and became a favorite shop over the years for local residents to buy flowers.
In 1971, Sandy and Bob bought the shop from Mrs. Favazza when Frank Favazza past away and together they ran the shop until 2011 when Bob past away. Sandy kept the shop thriving but on June 30th 2014 she decided to close the doors and join Walter Knoll Florist. On August 18th 2014 Sandy will start working at Walter Knoll Florist’s LaSalle Street location.
